Resolution to Approve U of M Soccer Complex Annexation, 12.5 Acres, 2323 South Main Street (CPC Recommendation: Approval - 8 Yeas and 0 Nays)
Memorandum
Approval of this resolution will allow annexation of this property, which is owned by the University of Michigan, from Pittsfield Township into the City. This property is within the City’s water and sewer service area. The current use, three soccer fields, is not consistent with the City of Ann Arbor Land Use Plan: Land Use Element, but the requested zoning is consistent with the current use. It will come back for Council action on the zoning change to PL Public Land after the annexation process is complete. The City Planning Commission recommended approval of the annexation request at its meeting of December 1, 2009.

Whereas, The territory hereinafter described is located in the Township of Pittsfield and is adjacent to the corporate limits of the City of Ann Arbor;
Whereas, the Regents of the University of Michigan are the owners of said property; and;
Whereas, It is the desire of the Regents of the University of Michigan to annex said territory to the City of Ann Arbor, pursuant to the provisions of Act 359 of the Public Acts of the State of Michigan for the year 1947, as amended;
RESOLVED, That the following described lands and premises situated and being in the Township of Pittsfield, Washtenaw County, Michigan, be detached from said Township of Pittsfield and annexed to the City of Ann Arbor, to-wit:
