Proposed Amendments to Council Rules
Memorandum
The Council Administration Committee distributes the attached proposed amendments to Council Rules as a communication item for the May 15, 2023 Council Agenda with the intent to sponsor a Resolution to Approve Amendments to Council Rules on the June 5, 2023 Council Agenda.
These amendments to Council Rule 7 will extend the time that speakers can contact the City Clerk’s Office to be placed in random order within the prioritized speaking categories from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., instead of 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. speakers will be placed at the end of the applicable prioritized group in the order received. Previously speakers in the afternoon were placed at the end of the entire list of speakers.
