Memorandum

Whereas, The Ann Arbor Public Art Commission <https://www.a2gov.org/departments/public-services/Pages/Public-Art.aspx> has brought back the Golden Paintbrush Award <https://www.a2gov.org/departments/public-services/Pages/Golden-Paintbrush-Award.aspx> after a decade-long hiatus. Ann Arbor community members were given the chance to nominate artists and organizations that have done outstanding work in the public art field in 2021 and a panel of judges selected the final winners. The Golden Paintbrush Awards are nominated by the community to recognize the creativity and talent of artists and organizations that have contributed to the cultural and aesthetic richness of Ann Arbor in the form of public art. 

 

Whereas, The Mayor hereby recognizes the four winners of the 2021 Golden Paintbrush Awards as follows:

                     Ann Arbor A​rt Center for the A2AC Murals project and the ArtBox program 

                     David Zinn’s "Laughing at Clouds” mural

                     Youth Art Month installations in accordance with Ann Arbor Public Schools

                     City of Ann Arbor Clerk’s Office “I VOTED” stickers
