Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution to authorize the awarding of a contract to Margolis Companies, Inc. in the amount of $55,000.00 for the planting of trees in city parks and along City street rights-of-way.

After the original ITB-4688 received no bids by its August 18, 2021 due date, ITB-4692 was reissued on BidNet for tree planting, which included the purchase, delivery, and planting of approximately 130 trees in parks and along City street rights-of-way, and a one-year guarantee. One bid was received and opened on September 17, 2021.

The Elizabeth Dean Fund Committee identified and approved tree planting projects to plant approximately 130 trees in parks and along city street rights-of-way. These projects all meet the spirit and intent of Elizabeth Dean to be used "to repair, maintain, or replace trees on city property in the City of Ann Arbor, perpetually." and will be spent in accordance with the purpose of the Elizabeth Dean Trust Fund. The trees will be planted along the Jackson Road median at Westover Avenue, Riverside Park along the river sidewalk, and other various city-owned properties throughout the City of Ann Arbor.

Sustainability Framework: The work completed through this contract will help to achieve tree canopy targets identified in the Urban and Community Forest Management Plan, adopted by City Council in June 2014 (R-14-0696). In addition, it will help fund and further various aspects of the City's Sustainability Framework.

Budget/Fiscal Impact: The total maximum cost of the tree planting project is $55,000.00. Expenses will not exceed what is available in the approved FY22 Elizabeth R. Dean Trust Fund Budget and funds will be available in subseq...
