Resolution to Approve an Amendment to the Bylaws of the Ann Arbor Public Art Commission
Memorandum
City Council Resolution R-08-496 requires that bylaws amendments be reviewed by the City Attorney's Office for compliance with legal requirements and uniformity and consistency of format and content where practical; and that bylaws amendments do not take effect until approved by City Council.
This amendment has been requested by the Ann Arbor Public Art Commission and was approved at its October 7, 2020 meeting. The amendment is not consistent with the City’s standard bylaws provisions. The amendment removes the City’s standard bylaws provision that prohibits members of boards and commissions from bidding on contracts for public art that may be affected by a decision of the Commission.
