Resolution Recognizing Friends of CASA as a Civic Nonprofit Organization Operating in Ann Arbor for the Purpose of Obtaining a Charitable Gaming License
Memorandum
To obtain a charitable gaming license under Michigan law, a nonprofit organization is required to submit a resolution from its local governing body recognizing it as a community-based organization.

Friends of CASA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes the quality, sustainability, and growth of the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Washtenaw County Program. They create awareness and provide funding and support for neglected and abused children under the jurisdiction of the Washtenaw County Trial Court - Juvenile Division.

Passage of the attached resolution will allow Friends of CASA to hold a raffle at Rockin’ the CASA, 7920 Jackson Road, in Scio Township from November 1, 2009 through November 15, 2009. Passage of this resolution is required in order to obtain final approval from the Charitable Gaming Division of the Bureau of State Lottery for this event and any future events.
