Resolution to Approve City Administrator Search

Whereas, The Charter of the City of Ann Arbor has set forth a strong city administrator form of government whereby a professional city administrator performs the duties set forth in Chapter 5 of the Charter;
Whereas, The City has had an Interim City Administrator since March 2, 2020;
Whereas, The position of City Administrator is integral to the administration of the City;
Whereas, The Council Administration Committee has unanimously recommended that search consultant Amy Cell conduct the search for City Administrator;
Whereas, The Council Administration Committee has unanimously recommended the proposed procedure and timeline for a City Administrator search as outlined by the consultant;
Whereas, The competitive search process is important to ensure that the person selected for the position has been fully and fairly evaluated in a transparent manner;
Resolved, That Amy Cell Talent be authorized to conduct the search for City Administrator;
Resolved, That the search process for the City Administrator proceed under the general procedure and timeline outlined by the consultant; and
Resolved, That the salary for the position be set at an appropriate range up to the salary currently budgeted for the position.
