Resolution to Approve Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement with Stantec for the Easy Street Water Main and Road Replacement Project ($21,636.00)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to approve Amendment No. 2 to the existing Professional Services Agreement with Stantec for the Easy Street Water Main and Road Replacement Project in the amount of $21,636.00. This change order is necessary to fund additional costs incurred by Stantec to provide the necessary surveying, inspection, testing, and construction management services during the construction of the Easy Street Water Main and Road Replacement Project and will increase the agreement to $313,494.00.
These additional costs were incurred due to the extended duration of the construction contractor’s operations to complete the project. As a result of the contractor substantially completing the project work beyond the approved contract completion deadline, the contractor was assessed liquidated damages under the terms of the construction contract to cover damages such as this which were incurred by the city.
Funding for this change order is available in the contingency portion of the project budget. Stantec received Human Rights approval on February 20, 2009 and Living Wage Approval on May 28, 2009.
