Resolution to Revise 2020 Council Calendar
Body
Whereas, The City Council Rules require the City Council to establish a calendar of City Council meetings and work sessions in advance of each calendar year;
Whereas, Resolution R-19-544 - Resolution to Establish 2020 Council Calendar was approved on December 2, 2019;
Whereas, Resolution R-20-057 to Revise the 2020 Council Calendar was approved on February 18, 2020 to adjust the October 12 Work Session to October 13 in observance of October 12 Holiday - Indigenous Peoples’ Day;
Whereas, City Council met on March 16, 2020 and the Mayor announced that the March 23, March 30, and April 13 Work Sessions were cancelled due to uncertainty as to whether public meetings could be held during the COVID-19 pandemic;
Whereas, On March 18, Governor Whitmer issued Executive Order 2020-15, which authorizes electronic meetings of public bodies;
Whereas, The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem have therefore requested that the April 13 Work Session be restored to discuss the Carbon Neutrality Plan;
RESOLVED, That the 2020 City Council Calendar be revised as follows to restore the April 13 Work Session that was previously cancelled:
