Environmental Commission Resolution in Support of the A2Zero Carbon Neutrality Plan

WHEREAS, the Environmental Commission is charged with giving recommendations to City Council about how to improve the environment in Ann Arbor; and
WHEREAS, City Council unanimously voted to recognize a climate emergecy and set a goal for the City to reach community-wide carbon neutrality by 2030; and
WHEREAS, City staff have developed a living Carbon Neutrality Plan that lays out the actions and the resources that would be needed to meet the carbon neutrality goal;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Environmental Commission urges City Council to adopt the Carbon Neutrality Plan and provide the necessary budget to begin immediate implementation of the plan, including adequate resources within the Fiscal Year 2021 budget.
