Title

Resolution to Extend the Deer Management Program within the City of Ann Arbor

Memorandum

City Council’s original resolution R-15-277 authorizing culling, limited deer management operations to four years, but the authorization was not date specific. The City has completed four annual culling operations to date.

In response to the City incorporating surgical sterilization into deer management operations, our permit with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) was converted to a research permit that expires March 31, 2020. The MDNR permit is still in good standing, however it is necessary for City Council to authorize a fifth year of the Deer Management Program for it to continue through the permit’s expiration date.
