Resolution to support the FY20 and FY21 budget and budget process as presented by City Administrator Howard Lazarus to the Environmental Commission.

Whereas, the Environmental Commission received a presentation about climate and sustainability related elements of the proposed FY 2020 Budget on April 25, 2019;
Whereas, the budget includes funding to support projects and programs that will benefit City and community-facing climate and sustainability programs throughout the City; and,
Whereas, the City of Ann Arbor has established a goal of reducing community-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2025 and 90% by 2050 (based on emissions in 2000); and
Whereas, the City of Ann Arbor has established a goal of powering municipal operations with 100% clean and renewable energy by 2035 (based on emissions in 2000);
Resolved, the Environmental Commission endorses the climate and sustainability related elements of the proposed FY 2020 budget moving forward through the budget process.
