Resolution to Approve Street Closings for the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run on Sunday, June 2, 2019
Memorandum
The attached resolution is requesting approval to close various streets and provide other services to accommodate the annual Dexter-Ann Arbor running races sponsored by the Ann Arbor Track Club on Sunday, June 2, 2019. The races involve more than 6,000 participants and volunteers.

The Runs will require closing of the following streets and service parking lots on June 2, 2019:

* N. Main Street from Miller/Catherine to Huron Street from 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
* N. Main Street from Kingsley Street to Miller from 7:00 A.M. to Noon
* Southbound lanes of N. Main Street from Kingsley to Huron River Drive from 7:00 A.M. to Noon (one northbound lane will be converted to southbound travel, vehicles will be permitted to exit driveways when clear)
* The surface parking lot at Ann Street and N. Main Street from 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 2 until 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 2, 2019
* Ann Street from N. Ashley Street to N. Fourth Ave. from 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
* Huron River Dr. from 7:45 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
* From 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. on June 2, 2019 for the 5K:

o Main Street from Ann to Summit
o Summit from Main to Wildt
o Wildt from Summit to Sunset
o Sunset from Wild to Vesper
o Vesper from Sunset to Red Oak
o Red Oak from Vesper to Robin
o Robin from Red Oak to Brooks
o Brooks from Robin to Hiscock
o Hiscock from Brooks to Main

The 5K portion of the event is a new route. The applicant has informed the neighborhood association chair as well as impacted businesses in the area of this change and has obtained their support.

The streets will open as soon as safely possible. Participants will be directed to sidewalks as the race nears its end.

As in previous years, the event will serve registered runners refreshments at the end of the race. As in previous years, there will be a beer tent for which a temporary liquor license will be required. The Club will use ...
