Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a request from the State Street District to close Maynard Street between Liberty and William on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 AM on Sunday, May 12, 2019 for the Rock the District event. The actual event will take place from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM, with the additional time to be used for set-up and breakdown of the event. The parking structure will remain open and accessible via Thompson Street.
The State Street District is excited to bring entertainment, including live music to downtown Ann Arbor. The District will have outdoor dining as well as several tents for beer sales and seating for those enjoying the entertainment.
The sponsor will submit an application for approval from the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission for temporary sales, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the defined areas, pursuant to the MLCC regulations.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the street, and will reimburse the City for all event expenses. Notification of the street closings will be provided through the City's website, GovDelivery, the sponsor's website and social media. Neighboring businesses will be informed of this event via the District.
