Resolution to Add Additional Street Closings for the Trail to the Victors 5K on April 7, 2019
Memorandum
The University of Michigan’s Trail to the Victors 5K event, scheduled to close streets from 5:30 AM until 10:30 AM on Sunday, April 7, 2019, would like to revise the map to include additional blocks for closing. City Council initially approved this closure on January 7, 2019 at Enactment #R-19-004. The event has grown each year and registration is currently at 7,000+. The additional closures will help to assure the safety of participants. The changes include closing State Street from near the Stadium Bridge to East Washington, instead of stopping at South University. The change will also include closing South University from Tappan to Church Street, instead of stopping at East University. Updated street and barricade maps are attached. It is expected that this route will continue for future years. The State Street District and the South University Street Association have approved these minor changes.

Geddes from Church Street to Fletcher Street
Fletcher Street from Geddes to East Washington Street
East Washington Street from Fletcher to State Street
Madison from State to Division
Division from Madison to Hoover
Hoover from State Street to Greene and Keech (finish inside the Big House)
RESOLVED, That City Council approve the updated route to close the following streets from 5:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Sunday, April 7, 2019 for the Trail to the Victors 5K:
State Street from near the Stadium Bridge to North University
Monroe Street from State to Tappan
Tappan from Monroe Street to South University
South University from Tappan to Church Street
Church Street from South University to Geddes
Geddes from Church Street to Fletcher Street
Fletcher Street from Geddes to East Washington Street
