Resolution: Support for Non-motorized Safety Education Outreach Campaign
Body
Whereas,  The City of Ann Arbor has adopted a Comprehensive Non-motorized Transportation Plan including policies and provisions for assuring a safe, convenient and comprehensive non-motorized system; and
 
Whereas, Non-motorized system safety and educational information targeted to include pedestrians, bicyclists, and  motorists is an essential component to assuring proper and safe use of  transportation system elements includes streets, sidewalks, crosswalks and bicycle lanes;
 
RESOLVED, The City Administrator be directed to authorize the expenditure of up to $10,000.00 for development and implementation of a non-motorized safety education outreach program; and
 
RESOLVED, Such funds be allocated from the Alternative Transportation fund created from Act 51 funds directed to development of a safe system of on-road bicycle lanes.
