Attached for your review and action is a resolution to purchase, install and re-integrate Eight (8) Avid Qualified HP xw8600 Workstations with the existing Avid Unity Lanshare Network and the existing Avid Media Composer 3.5 software in the amount of $41,168.00 from Midwest Media Group, Royal Oak, Michigan. Funding for this purchase is included in the Production Equipment Fund in the approved FY 2009 budget.

Community Television Network (CTN) will use this upgrade in its production of programming for the four (4) cable channels managed by the City of Ann Arbor. The use of this equipment will allow for greater efficiency, creativity, and production output with the existing network and software, allowing CTN to better serve the City of Ann Arbor and the community at large with quality programming of high value to the City of Ann Arbor residents.

Bid documents were distributed on the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network and five (5) suppliers submitted bids for this purchase. Midwest Media Group is the lowest responsible bidder. The bid tabulation is attached.

Midwest Media Group received Human Rights approval on May 21, 2009 and complies with the provisions of the City’s living wage ordinance.
