Resolution to Fund Three Outdoor Ice Rinks for FY2019 (8 Votes Required)

Whereas, The outdoor ice rinks, located at Allmendinger, Burns, and Northside Parks, have been in place the last 3 winters and were successful and well received by the community;
Whereas, Funding for the ice rinks in FY16 and FY17 were included in the budget as Council budget amendments;
Whereas, Funding for the ice rinks in FY18 was covered by additional park funds made available as a result of the parks ‘fairness resolution;
Whereas, Funding for the rinks is not included in the FY19 approved operating budget; and
Whereas, Staff has estimated the expense to continue the outdoor ice rinks for the
2018/19 winter to be $40,000.00 based on expenses from the prior 3 seasons;
RESOLVED, That the General Fund FY 2019 Parks budget be increased by $40,000.00
funded by a one-time use of the General Fund balance.
