Resolution to Approve Amendments to the Solid Waste Regulations That Were Filed with the City Clerk on May 4, 2009

Whereas, Amendments to the City's solid waste regulations to implement recent amendments to Chapter 26 (Solid Waste) of the City Code that change the City's commercial refuse and recycling programs and practices were filed with the City Clerk on May 4, 2009, in accordance with Section 2:10 of the City Code and appeared as item F-3 on the City Council's May 4, 2009, agenda; and
Whereas, Even though Section 2:10 of the City Code provides for amendments to the solid waste regulations to take effect 30 days after filing without action by the City Council, unless modified or disapproved by the City Council, the City Council desires to make an affirmative record of its approval of these amendments to the City's solid waste regulations because they implement important changes to City's commercial refuse and recycling programs and practices;
RESOLVED, That the amendments to the City's solid waste regulations that were filed with the City Clerk on May 4, 2009, and appeared as item F-3 on the City Council's May 4, 2009, agenda be and are approved as filed; and
RESOLVED, That in accordance with Section 2:10 of the City Code, the effective date of said amendments to the City's solid waste regulations is June 3, 2009.
