Resolution Approving a Grant of Easement to the Detroit Edison Company for Underground Electric Service Line (Located at the City of Ann Arbor Municipal Airport) (8 Votes Required)
Memorandum
There is a resolution before you to approve a grant of easement to the Detroit Edison Company, a Michigan corporation, for the construction and maintenance of new electrical service located at the City’s Municipal Airport.
The new electrical service, which includes an underground electric service line, transformer and pad and other component elements, will provide power to six new aircraft hangars constructed at the northwest hangar area of the airport and also provide electrical service to the new snow removal equipment maintenance facility for airport operations.
The terms, conditions, and location of the grant of easement have been reviewed and approved by all required City service areas, including the Fleet & Facility Services Manager, Safety Services Area, and comply with site plan recommendations.
There is no cost involved for the City.
Approval of the grant of easement is recommended.

Whereas, The Detroit Edison Company, a Michigan corporation, has requested an easement for the construction and maintenance of an underground electric service line located in the northwest hangar area of the City of Ann Arbor Municipal Airport, for the purpose of expanding the City’s existing electric service to the new hangars and for the new snow removal equipment maintenance facility for airport operations; and
Whereas, The Safety Services Area has determined that it is in the City’s best interest to request that The Detroit Edison Company construct and maintain the new underground electric service line and that the terms, conditions and location of the easement will not interfere with City operations;
