Memorandum
There is a resolution before you to accept a grant of easement from the United States of America, by and through the Department of Interior - United States Geological Survey, for the construction and maintenance of a water main.
The easement is in standard form and conveyed at no cost to the City.
Acceptance of the grant of easement is recommended.

Whereas, The United States of America, by and through the Department of Interior - United States Geological Survey, is the fee simple owner of property located in the City of Ann Arbor, County of Washtenaw, Michigan, as described in the Washtenaw County Records at Liber 1044, Page 552, recorded on October 2, 1963; and
Whereas, The United States of America, by and through the Department of Interior - United States Geological Survey has delivered an easement to the City for the construction and maintenance of municipally operated public services to run with the land and burden the respective property perpetually, being more particularly described as follows:
Description of 40 foot wide Easement:
Land situated in the City of Ann Arbor, County of Washtenaw, State of Michigan being further described as:
A 40' wide watermain easement, being a part of the North ½ of the Northeast ¼ of the Southwest ¼ of Section 23, Town 2, South, Range 6 East, and commencing N00°54'W, 2035.59 feet along the North/South ¼ line of said Section, and S88°37'30"W, 33.00 feet to the West right-of-way line of Green Road, and N00°54'W, 144.80 feet along said right-of-way line from the South ¼ corner of said Section 23;
Thence S89°06'00"W, 47.88 feet;
Thence N00°54'W, 40.00 feet;
Thence N89°06'00"E, 47.88 feet to said right-of-way line;
Thence S00°54'E, 40.00 feet along said right-of-way line to the point of beginning.
The above described easement contains 0.0439 acres or 1915.14 square feet more or less.
