Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to close the following streets for the Rolling Sculpture Car Show on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 7:00 A.M. to Midnight:

· South Main Street between Huron Street and William Street
· South Fourth Avenue between the Huron Street and William Street (except for buses entering or exiting the Blake Transit Center)
· Washington Street between South Ashley Street and South Division Street (except for traffic entering or exiting the Washington Street Parking Structure)
· Liberty Street between South Ashley Street and South Fifth Avenue

This event, sponsored by the Main Street Area Association, will be held to promote the Main Street business district as well as provide entertainment in the downtown area.

The sponsor will insure that access to the Washington Street parking structure is maintained during the event. In addition, the sponsor will coordinate the bagging of parking meters with the DDA and Republic Parking.

The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.

The sponsor will mail written notice to all affected businesses, religious institutions and area residents not less than 14 days prior to the event.

The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
