Resolution Recognizing the 50th Anniversary of Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Western

Whereas, On April 1, 1959, the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor sponsored the founding of the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Western, the first Kiwanis Club formed in Ann Arbor in 38 years;
Whereas, Many of the Charter Members of the Western Club were west side business owners;
Whereas, The Club has met weekly on Tuesdays at noon at Weber's Inn; and
Whereas, The Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Western has worked for 50 years with High Point School, providing financial and hands-on assistance for its special needs students;
RESOLVED, That the City of Ann Arbor Council recognizes the Golden Anniversary of the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Western on April 1, 2009; and congratulates the organization on its 50 years of service to the community.
