Resolution to Approve the Purchase of a Vehicle from Berger Chevrolet (Oakland County Bid - $30,854.00)
Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500LT 4WD pickup truck at $30,854.00 from Berger Chevrolet, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
This vehicle is used by the Police Unit of the Safety Services Area and will replace a similar pickup truck that was a total loss because of a recent vehicle accident. The claim on the totaled vehicle will have to proceed through the City's insurance claim process. The Police Unit will need the vehicle replaced as soon as possible and the manufacturer's "cut-off" date for orders is March 22, 2018.
The Fleet and Facilities Unit reviewed the bids of the Cooperative Purchasing Programs of the State of Michigan, Oakland County, and Macomb County. Berger Chevrolet was the lowest responsive bidder to the Oakland County bid.
Adequate funds for this purchase have been budgeted in the Fleet Services budget for FY 2018. Proceeds from the insurance claim will be applied to the vehicle replacement cost with any shortage being recovered from the Police Unit of the Safety Services Area.
Berger Chevrolet complies with the requirements of the City's non-discrimination ordinances.
