Resolution to Approve Street Closings for FestiFools - Sunday, April 5, 2009
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of certain streets for the third annual FestiFools special event on Sunday, April 5, 2009. The event will begin at 4:00 P.M with setup beginning at 3:00 P.M. and the streets to be reopened by 6:00 P.M.
The FestiFools event will require closing of the following streets from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on April 5, 2009:
• S. Main Street from William Street to Washington Street
• Liberty Street from Ashley Street to South Fourth Avenue (except for traffic entering
or exiting the Washington Street Parking Structure)
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
The sponsor will mail written notice to all affected businesses, religious institutions and area residents not less than 14 days prior to the event.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
