Whereas, Americans and Ann Arborites enjoy the rights and liberties of living in a democratic and open society;

Whereas, These freedoms have been protected by the members of our Armed Forces for over 240 years;

Whereas, Veterans Day was established to honor our veterans with military services; and

Whereas, City of Ann Arbor employees have served and continue to serve our country with honor and distinction;

RESOLVED, That the City of Ann Arbor recognizes employees who are military service veterans for their selfless service and sacrifices past and present, commits its continuing support to our veterans, and joins in the national celebration by dedicating November 11^th as City of Ann Arbor Veterans Appreciation Day.
