Title
Resolution to Approve an Increase to the Purchase Order with Liquid Calcium Chloride Sales, Inc for Dust Suppressant Treatments in the Amount of $889.78
Memorandum
In FY 17, Public Works solicited quotes for calcium chloride application for dust suppression on gravel roads. Liquid Calcium Chloride Sales, Inc was the successful bidder and issued a purchase order not to exceed $24,999.01.

Calcium chloride applications for dust control are applied approximately three times per year. The 2017 late spring dust suppressant application was applied on more miles of roadway and in some cases at a higher rate than is typical for a spring application, pushing costs for application higher than originally estimated. This increased application was due to higher and more frequent heavy precipitation events that rinsed away prior treatments. As a result, the final invoice received exceeded the $25,000.00 purchasing authority threshold and was partially paid leaving a balance of $889.78.

Liquid Calcium Chloride Sales, Inc. complies with the requirements of the City’s Conflict of Interest, Living Wage, and Non-Discrimination ordinances.
