Title
Resolution to Approve the Purchase of One Compact Tractor with Broom from Deere & Company (MiDeal - $36,746.98)
Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one John Deere model 1585 commercial compact tractor and one John Deere model 60 rotary broom at a total cost of $36,749.98 through the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing contract #071B7700085 for use by the Public Services Area, Fleet & Facilities Unit.

The compact tractor and broom listed in this resolution will replace an existing 1993 Toro 325D tractor (#6889) and a 2008 Sweepster 60” rotary broom (#6450), both pieces having unknown hours of use. This is the sole piece of equipment used by Facilities staff to clear snow from the Ann Arbor Municipal Center. The bridge and paver block surfaces around both the building and parking lot must be cleared with a broom to minimize damage to these surfaces.

Deere & Company was awarded contract #071B7700085 by the State of Michigan MiDeal cooperative purchasing program for Agricultural, Grounds and Maintenance Equipment and the contract is serviced locally through Bader & Sons, South Lyons, MI.

Adequate funding for the purchase of this equipment has been budgeted in the Fleet Services Fund FY18 budget.

Deere & Company complies with the requirements of the City’s non-discrimination ordinance.
