Resolution to Extend the Working Timeframe of the Medical Marijuana Ordinance Review Committee
Memorandum
On December 5, 2016, City Council passed Resolution R-16-470 to establish a Medical Marijuana Ordinance Review Committee for purposes of making recommendations to Council regarding which changes, if any, would be needed in current City ordinances to comply with new state legislation on medical marijuana. The resolution required the Committee to arrive at recommendations by June 30, 2017. On June 15, 2017, the Committee approved a draft of a proposed ordinance amendment for recommendation to Council, which will be brought before Council pursuant to the usual procedures for ordinance amendments. Committee members have expressed a desire to extend the Committee's term for purposes of continuing to provide recommendations to Council at Council's request.
