Attached for your review and action is a resolution to approve a $34,682.00 purchase order with Northwest Pools to purchase pool chemicals.

Pool chemicals are a necessary component in the safe use and upkeep of the four city pools. Approval authorizes the purchase of calcium hypochlorite, chlorine feeders, calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and isocyanuric acid for the purpose of maintaining safe and effective pool water chemistry.

The pricing provided shall be firm for one year. Upon mutual agreement between the city and the vendor, the pricing may be extended for two (2) additional one (1) year periods not to exceed three (3) years in total.

Bids were solicited (ITB-4505) on City's website and on the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) with specifications available to interested providers.

Three bids were received by the City for this project:

Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies $34,964.30
B&B Pools and Spas $60,895.00
PVS Nolwood Chemicals, Inc. $620.00**

** Only submitted bid for 2 items

Staff is recommending a purchase order to Northwest Pools in the amount of $34,682.00 for the purchase of pool chemicals for fiscal year 2018. Funding is available in the approved FY2018 Park & Recreation general fund operating budget.
