Title
Resolution to Approve the Purchase of a Sewer Inspection Truck from Jack Doheny Supplies Inc. (Houston-Galveston Area Council Cooperative Purchasing; $101,247.00)
Memorandum
The attached resolution authorizes the purchase of one 2017 Ford F-450 XL 4x2 cab and chassis with a 16' Cargo Box Hi-Cube pipeline inspection van body at a total cost of $101,247.00 through the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) cooperative purchasing program (contract HGAC#SC01-15) for use by the Public Services Area, Public Works Unit. The purchase price includes the removal of our existing pipeline inspection equipment from our existing truck and reinstallation of that equipment in the new vehicle.

The truck listed in this resolution will replace an existing 2004 Ford E-350 sewer inspection truck (#2614) which has 15,051 hours of use and whose repair cost has exceeded 88% of the purchase price of the vehicle. The sewer camera truck houses the equipment necessary to televise sanitary and storm sewer pipes. This equipment is used to evaluate pipes in conjunction with street resurfacing projects, perform sewer backup investigations, and routinely assess the condition of sewer mains.

Jack Doheny Supplies Inc., Northville, Michigan was assigned Contract Number SC01-15 by the HGAC cooperative purchasing program for pipeline inspection equipment. The City's purchasing unit has reviewed the HGAC cooperative purchasing program and found that it meets the requirements of the City of Ann Arbor for competitive and fair purchasing.

Adequate funding for the purchase of this vehicle is available in the FY17 Public Works, Sanitary Sewer Fund Operations and Maintenance budget.

Jack Doheny Supplies Inc. complies with the requirements of the City's non-discrimination ordinances.
