To Approve the Ann Arbor Housing Commission FY18 Annual Action Plan (July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018)

 

Memorandum

The Quality Housing and Work Responsibility Act of October, 1998 introduced Five-Year and Annual PHA Plans to provide a ready source for interested parties to locate basic PHA policies, rules and requirements concerning the PHA’s operations, programs and services and to inform HUD, families served by the PHA, and members of the public of the PHA’s mission and strategies for serving the needs of the low-income and very low-income families.

 

The Commission submitted a Five-Year Plan for 2016-2020 in April 2015 and is required to submit to HUD an FY18 Annual Plan no later than April 17, 2017. AAHC staff met with the Resident Advisory Board (RAB) to review, discuss and answer questions regarding the Agency Plan, which are incorporated into the Plan.

 

The AAHC’s Annual Plan was on public display for a minimum of 45 days at the Commission’s Offices (Miller Manor, Baker Commons, Ashley) and on the Commission’s website, beginning January 23, 2017 thru April 3, 2017. The required Public Hearing was held on March 15, 2017 during the regularly scheduled Board Meeting to further receive resident and community comments and no additional comments were received.

 

The Plan is now complete and ready for Board consideration and approval and subsequent execution of relevant certifications by the President of the Board and the Executive Director.

Body

WHEREAS, the Ann Arbor Housing Commission is required to submit an Annual Action Plan to HUD no later than April 17, 2017; and

 

WHEREAS, the Resident Advisory Board met on November 29, 2016, reviewed and made comments on the Annual Action Plan which are incorporated into the Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on March 15, 2017 and the plan was on display to the public beginning on January 23, 2017 through April 3, 2017 and no additional comments have been received; and

 

RESOLVED that the Board of the Ann Arbor Housing Commission approves the FY 18 Annual Agency Plan for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 and all attachments, and authorizes the electronic submission of the Plan to HUD on or before April 17, 2017.
