Title
Resolution to Waive Sidewalk Occupancy Fees for West Liberty Street Construction
Memorandum
The City has received a request from the Main Street Area Association to request a waiver of sidewalk occupancy fees for several businesses, due to the upcoming construction on West Liberty Street. This construction is scheduled to begin after the 2017 Art Fair in late July and end in late fall, thus impacting the owners' ability to conduct regular sidewalk business on that street. The City considers this to be a one-time financial hardship on those businesses and would like to waive sidewalk occupancy fees for 2017 only for the following:

* 111 W. Liberty - Vin Bar
* 114 W. Liberty - Pacific Rim by Kana
* 117 W. Liberty - Ann Arbor Art Center
* 118 W. Liberty - Grange Kitchen and Bar
* 120 W. Liberty - The West End Grill
* 300 S. Main - Starbucks (for use of the sidewalk on the south side of W. Liberty running alongside the length of their business)
* 226 S. Main - Pretzel Bell (for use of the sidewalk on the north side of W. Liberty running alongside the length of their business)
* 303 S. Ashley - Beer Grotto Ann Arbor

This fee waiver has a value of around $2,000 and is supported by the Administrators for Community Services and Public Services. The DDA has also been informed of this request.
