Resolution to Approve a Contract with Michael Andrews Concrete ($104,875.80)
Memorandum
The Ann Arbor Housing Commission Procurement Policy requires the AAHC to use a sealed bid process for contracts that are expected to exceed $100,000. InSite Design, landscape architect firm, was hired to determine the scope of work and their cost estimate exceeded $100,000.
The AAHC worked with the City of Ann Arbor Procurement Office to publish the Invitation to Bid, respond to contractor questions, compile the bids and award the bid. Three contractors submitted bids ranging from $104,875.80 to $262,188.00. InSite Design is vetting the lowest bid from Michael Andrews Concrete to ensure that the contractor understands the scope and is able to perform the work.
The AAHC recommends that the board approve the contract with the lowest responsible bidder based on InSite Designs recommendation.

WHEREAS, the Ann Arbor Housing Commission issued an Invitation to Bid through the City’s Procurement Office for landscaping, sidewalk and parking lot work at S. Seventh;
WHEREAS, Michael Andrews Concrete was the low bid at $104,875.80;
RESOLVED, that the Board approves a contract with Michael Andrews Concrete for $104.875.80 as the lowest responsible bidder based on InSite Design’s recommendation.
