Memorandum
The attached resolution requests withdrawal of the City's objection to renewal of the Class C liquor license and permits currently held by A2MI Old Carolina Barbeque Company, LLC (d/b/a Old Carolina Barbeque Company)(Business ID. No. 235153)(Liquor License No. 234843-2016), SAE Young Corporation (d/b/a Nagomi Sushi and Noodles)(Business ID No.235045) (Liquor License No. 235762-2016) and 5Z Restaurants Ann Arbor, LLC (d/b/a BurgerFi)(Business ID No. 232181)(Liquor License No. 23085-2016)

Liquor licenses issued by the State of Michigan expire April 30th each year as establish by Michigan law (MCL 436.1501(2). On-premise liquor licenses require approval by the local legislative body before renewal of an existing license if an objection to renewal has been filed with the Michigan Liquor Control Commission by the local legislative body at least 30 days before April 30th of that year.

On February 6, 2017, City Council accepted the recommendation of the Council Liquor License Review Committee recommending Objection to Renewal of Old Carolina Barbeque Company's, Nagomi Sushi and Noodles's and BurgerFi's liquor licenses and permits for failure to timely pay its 2015 personal property taxes. Council approved the matter for hearing on February 22, 2017.
