Whereas, Councilmember Briere, of the First Ward, submitted her written resignation to the City Clerk on _________, 2016, which resignation has been duly accepted by resolution of City Council on December 5, 2016;
Whereas, City Council is authorized by City Charter, Section 12.14(a) to fill the vacancy, after the resignation, becomes effective for the remainder of Ms. Briere’s term of office; and
Whereas, City Council, in accordance with the process established in Resolution R-16-429, having solicited applications from residents of the First Ward who wished to be considered for appointment, and having conducted public interviews of applicants in a duly noticed Special Session of City Council on November 28, 2016;
RESOLVED, That City Council appoint ________________ to the City Council for the First Ward, for a term expiring November, 2017; and
RESOLVED, That the appointment is effective immediate upon passage of this Resolution.
