Memorandum
Human Resources Services recommends approval of the attached Resolution for the Contract Re-opener on wages and health care between the City of Ann Arbor and the Teamsters Local 214 Civilians Supervisors.

Highlights of the negotiated re-opener include:

1. Agreement on wages and health care for third year of collective bargaining agreement, July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

2. $500 lump sum payment for reduced health care claims for covered employees averaging $9000 or less for the period from July 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009, payable in June 2009.

3. 2.75% wage increase effective July 1, 2008, and retroactive to that date.

4. No change to health plan design with increased premium rates effective July 1, 2008 ($44 for single, $93 double, and $104 for family coverage).

5. HRA contribution for July 1, 2008 of $500 per employee.

Whereas, The current collective bargaining agreement between the City of Ann Arbor and the Teamsters Local 214 Civilians Supervisors calls for a wage and health care re-opener for the third year of the current agreement;

Whereas, The parties have reached a settlement on the wage and health care re-opener, which provides a $500.00 lump sum payment for reduced health care claims for covered employees averaging $9000.00 or less for the period from July 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009, payable in June 2009;

Whereas, The re-opener also includes an increase of premium rates effective July 1, 2008 ($44.00 for single, $93.00 double, and $104.00 for family coverage);

Whereas, The parties have agreed upon an HRA contribution from the City to each member of $500.00 ...
