Resolution to Close North Fourth Avenue for the OutFest: Celebration - September 13, 2008
Memorandum
Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve the closing of North Fourth Avenue between East Kingsley Street and the entrance/exit to the surface parking lot on the corner of Catherine and Fourth Avenue from 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2008 to 1:00 AM on Sunday, September 14, 2008 for the OutFest Celebration. This event, sponsored by the Washtenaw Rainbow Action Project, will observe National Coming Out Day and diversity in the Ann Arbor community. The event will be a combination of food, entertainment and celebration.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits, to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required, to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets and will reimburse the City for all event expenses.
The sponsor will mail written notice to all affected businesses, religious institutions and area residents not less than 14 days prior to the event.
This event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and general public.
