Title
Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order to DLT Solutions, Inc. for a Software Maintenance and Licensing Agreement for Fiscal Year 2009 ($57,879.93)
Memorandum
Attached for your review and action is a resolution to approve the upgrade to the current AutoCAD software release and establish an annual licensing and software maintenance agreement with AutoDesk, Inc. AutoDesk is the City’s standard software used for engineering design and upkeep of critical City infrastructure records.

DLT Solutions, Inc. is the state and local government sales representative for AutoDesk, Inc. software products and maintenance for the Michigan area through GSA Contract GS-35F-4543G.

It is imperative to upgrade to the current AutoCAD software release and establishment of the annual licensing and software maintenance agreement with AutoDesk, Inc. as our current software revisions have or will expire soon. This means that no credit would be given for existing licensing and all new licensing would need to be purchased. An incentive is also available until July 31, 2008 which lowers the price of the drafting software by 10%.

In the future, software upgrades would be available on an ongoing basis as provided by the AutoDesk software maintenance subscription. The expiration of current software versions would no longer be of concern and the proper licenses for use of the software will be maintained with a lower, annually budgeted expenditure.

The accompanying resolution authorizes the creation of a purchase order to process a payment to DLT-Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $57,879.93 for the licensed use of AutoDesk software for fiscal year 2009. DLT-Solutions, Inc. received Human Rights and Living Wage compliance approval on July 9, 2008.
