Resolution to Approve a Purchase Order with Sehi Computer Products to Upgrade City’s Tape Backup Library System ($29,636.00)
Memorandum
The attached resolution seeks authorization to purchase Hewlett-Packard (HP) StorageWorks MSL6060 2 LTO-4 Ultrium 1840 SCSI tape library system and related connector equipment from Sehi Computer Products to upgrade and replace the City’s current tape backup library system. This upgrade replaces the existing 8 year old tape backup library system, and allows the Information technology Service Unit (ITSU) to manage and maintain the backups of the City’s electronic data. This upgrade also provides additional storage capacity for continued growth in City electronic data.

Competitive bids were received by ITSU on June 27, 2008 and the bid tabulation is attached. Sehi Computer Products, Inc. received Human Rights and Living Wage Compliance, effective February 11, 2008.

The funding to purchase HP StorageWorks MSL6060 2 LTO-4 Ultrium 1840 SCSI Tape Library and related connector equipment are budgeted in the FY2009 Information Technology Services Unit budget.

We recommend that the attached resolution for the purchase of HP StorageWorks MSL6060 2 LTO-4 Ultrium 1840 SCSI tape library system and related connector equipment from Sehi Computer Products in the amount of $29,636.00 be approved.
