Memorandum
Your approval is requested to authorize the issuance of a purchase order for supplying and installing color coating surface treatments to nine basketball and four tennis court facilities within the Parks system. These surface coatings plus the associate line striping improve the playability and extend the service life of these amenities. Approximately 63,850 square feet of materials will be installed as part of this $41,500 contract award.

The following bids were received:

Racquet Sports - $0.65/SF
Goddard Coatings - $1.25/SF
Tennis Courts Unlimited - $1.50/SF

Funding for the surfacing coating projects was included in the adopted FY 2006-2007 Park Rehabilitation and Development Millage and the adopted FY 2007-2008 Park Maintenance and Capital Improvements Millage budgets.

The resolution includes a recommended project contingency of $4,150.00 (10%) to cover potential contract change orders to be approved by the City Administrator. It is requested that a total project budget be established of $45,650.00 for the life of the project without regard to fiscal year.

Racquet Sports meets the living wage requirements and received Human Rights approval on June 13, 2008.
