Resolution Authorizing Sanitary Sewer and Water Improvement Charges for 1288 Broadway Street ($23,310.60)
Memorandum
Your approval is requested to levy the sanitary sewer and water improvement charges of $23,310.60 on the property known as 1288 Broadway Street. The parceI is a result of a property split in 2007 from the parent parcel of 1300 Broadway Street. The applicable connection charges have been paid and the property is “active” for sanitary sewer and water service as of June 3, 2008.
According to current procedures, the property owner needs to now pay the property’s share of the existing utilities through the City improvement charge levy as required under section 1:278, Chapter 12, of the Ann Arbor Code. The $23,310.60 Utilities Improvement Charge is to be levied and then made payable in 15 annual installments at 5.270% interest per annum on the unpaid balance.
It is therefore recommended that Council levy this improvement charge according to the terms described above.
