Resolution to Close Streets for the 8th Annual Mayor's Green Fair - Friday, June 13, 2008

Attached for your consideration is a resolution to approve a request from the Mayor’s Office to close S. Main Street from William Street to Huron Street, Washington Street from S. Ashley Street to S. Fourth Avenue, and Liberty Street from S. Ashley Street to S. Fourth Avenue to facilitate the staging of the 7th Annual Mayor’s Green Fair on Friday, June 13, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. The event itself will be conducted from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The extended time for the requested street closure will facilitate set up and take down activities related to the event.
The sponsor will insure that access to the Washington Street parking structure is maintained during the event. In addition, the sponsor will coordinate the bagging of parking meters with the DDA and Republic Parking.
The sponsor agrees to obtain all necessary permits and to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the streets.
The sponsor will mail written notice to all affected businesses, religious institutions and area residents not less than 14 days prior to the event.
The event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
