Attached for your review and approval is a resolution to approve a Professional Services Agreement in the amount of $148,586.00, with Washtenaw Engineering Company for the design of Catherine Street 16” Water Main; Plymouth Road Water Main Replacement; Wagner Road Sanitary Sewer - South; Glendaloch Circle Water Main Replacement; and Clair Circle Water Main Replacement Projects.
A new 16-inch transmission water main is necessary from Huron Street to Glen Avenue via Zina Pitcher and Catherine Street. Because of the increasing difficulty in maintaining a large diameter water main in Glen due to traffic and adjacent utilities and it is necessary to provide redundant piping. This water main will provide redundancy in the Geddes Hill water pressure district. Redundancy provides reliability in case of shut downs or breaks in the system. The project consists of installing approximately 620 feet of new 16-inch ductile iron pipe water main in Catherine Street from Glen Avenue to Zina Pitcher Place. Estimated cost of this water main project design is $41,971.00.
Replacing a 20-inch water main near Plymouth Road and Pointe Lane is necessary to prevent water service disruptions and traffic interruptions by preventing the frequent main breaks in this area. The project consists of installing approximately 1200 feet of new 20-inch water main pipe near Plymouth Road, in two locations between the two intersections of Plymouth and Broadway Street. Estimated cost of this water main project design is $39,575.00.
