Resolution to Amend Zoning Ordinance to Examine Alternatives to
Allow Personal Service Uses in the Office District as described in the Zoning Ordinance (Section 5:10.12)

Whereas, It has been brought to the attention of City Council that the Use Regulations for the Office District as described in the Zoning Ordinance (Section 5:10.12) do not include personal service uses such as beauty and barber, dry-cleaning and laundry pick-up services, shoe shine and shoe repair, garment alteration and repair, or photography; and
Whereas, It may be appropriate to include some or all of these personal service uses in the Office District in some fashion;
RESOLVED, That City Council seek alternatives to amend the permitted uses in the Office District of the Zoning Ordinance to include personal services uses;
RESOLVED, That City Council direct the City Administrator to initiate the amendment procedures as set forth in the Zoning Ordinance immediately; and
RESOLVED, That the City Administrator bring recommendations for such an amendment back to Council no later than July 21, 2008.
