Resolution Authorizing Road Improvement Charge for 3081 Glazier Way ($19,633.77)
Memorandum
Your approval is requested to levy Glazier Way Road improvement charge of $19,633.77, inclusive of pavement, curb & gutter, streetlights, sidewalks and storm sewer on the property known as 3081 Glazier Way. In order to receive City utility services, the owner requested annexation from Ann Arbor Township which was completed on December 27, 2007, as notified by the State of Michigan.
The property owner has paid the applicable connection and utility improvement charges, and is receiving sanitary sewer and water service as of September 2, 2005. Glazier Way was improved as part of the 2000 Glazier Way Road Improvement Project that included pavement, curb & gutter, streetlights, sidewalks, and storm sewer.
The property owner needs to now pay the property’s share of the outstanding improvement charge through the City improvement charge levy as required under section 1:279, Chapter 12, of the Ann Arbor Code. The $19,633.77 Improvement Charge is to be levied and then made payable in 15 annual installments at 7.0% interest per annum on the unpaid balance.
It is therefore recommended that Council levy the improvement charge according to the terms described above.
