Title
Request for Proposals for 415 W. Washington Street
Memorandum
The attached Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks proposals for the acquisition and redevelopment of city-owned property at 415 Washington Street. The Financial Services Area has identified this 2.46-acre site as surplus property, since it is no longer needed for city operations. The RFP has been reviewed by the Budget and Labor Committee.
The RFP identifies city plans and policies that are to guide the redevelopment of the site. A successful proposal must address all of the site development objectives in Section 1, which are:
§ Beneficial use of the site
§ Public greenway linkage
§ Flood risk mitigation
§ Environmental benefits
§ Historic preservation
§ Financial return
The RFP calls for Council to appoint an advisory committee to review the proposals. This committee will be made up of citizens and representatives from the Planning Commission and the Downtown Development Authority, and will be assisted by a team of City staff.
The RFP will be released to the public on February 28, 2008, with responses due on April 24, 2008.
