Resolution to Modify Amendments to Solid Waste Regulations Filed with the City Clerk January 22, 2008, as Revised and Filed February 4, 2008 (City Council Modifications as Revised for April 7, 2008)

Whereas, The City Administrator submitted proposed amendments to the City’s Solid Waste Regulations to the City Council at its January 7, 2008, meeting and filed the proposed amendments with the City Clerk on January 22, 2008;
Whereas, The City Administrator revised the proposed amendments to the Solid Waste Regulations and filed the proposed amendments, as revised, with the City Clerk on February 4, 2008;
Whereas, Section 2:10 of Chapter 26 of the City Code provides that solid waste regulations take effect 30 days after they are filed with the City Clerk, unless disapproved or modified by City Council;
Whereas, Members of City Council have concerns about some of the proposed amendments to the Solid Waste Regulations and wish to have the City Council consider modifications to the proposed amendments;
Whereas, Members of City Council initially introduced proposed modifications at the February 4, 2008, City Council meeting, but have revised those proposed modifications for consideration at the April 7, 2008, City Council meeting; and
Whereas, Copies of the amendments to the Solid Waste Regulations that were filed by the City Administrator on February 4, 2008, and of the modifications proposed by members of City Council, as revised for April 7, 2008, are attached;
RESOLVED, That the proposed amendments to Section (4) of R2:2 and Paragraph (A) of Section (2) of R2:5 be modified to eliminate the proposed change from November 30 to October 31 with the additional week of collection after Thanksgiving so that these subsections will read:
