Resolution for Community Events Fund Disbursements from the 2007/2008 Budget
Body
Whereas, The Ann Arbor City Council wishes to support activities that promote or bring the community together in its richness;
Whereas, The Ann Arbor Community Events Committee met and reviewed funding requests from community groups; and
Whereas, The Committee recommends the following allocations:
1) Veterans for Peace, Chapter 93 - Veteran's Day Display - November 11, 2007 - $100.00 for park rental fees;
2) Ann Arbor Book Festival - Book Festival - May 15-18,2008 - up to $1,500.00 to cover costs related to city expenses;
3) Hikone - Ann Arbor Educational Exchange Program - Hikone Student Educational Exchange Visit - November 2008 - $5,000.00 to cover airfare tickets for students;
4) Kerrytown Bookfest - Bookfest - September 9, 2007 - up to $892.00 to cover costs related to city expenses;
5) Ann Arbor Jaycees - 4th of July Parade - July 4, 2007 - up to $2,000 to cover costs related to city expenses;
6) Main Street Area Association - Oktoberfest - September 28-29, 2007 - up to $2,400 to cover costs related to city expenses; and
7) Ann Arbor Jaycees - Summer Carnival - July 6 - 8, 2007 - up too $3,500 to cover costs related to city expenses.
RESOLVED, That the Ann Arbor City Council approve the recommended allocations from the 2007/2008 Community Events Fund.
