Memorandum
The attached resolution requests approval to close East Washington Street to accommodate The Arena’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival on Monday, March 17, 2008. Tents will be set up in the westbound lane of East Washington Street and the eastbound lane will be maintained to accommodate a 20-foot wide fire lane.

The event will require closing of East Washington Street between South Fourth Avenue and the public alley located between South Fourth Avenue and South Fifth Avenue from 7:00 A.M. to 12:00 A.M. (midnight) on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.

The applicant agrees to obtain all necessary permits, and to provide evidence of proper liability insurance as required and to comply with all City regulations governing the use of the street.

The Arena will submit an application for approval from the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission for temporary sales, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the defined areas pursuant to the M.L.C.C. regulations.

This event has been coordinated with all relevant City service areas for the purposes of traffic control and for the protection of the health and safety of the participants and the general public.
